(this is a post taken from my old blog - but I wanted to share it on here too)

I thought that I would write a blog post to go along with my vlog that I recently put up on my channel, as I didn’t really talk too much about what actually happened if you want to go and watch that, i'll leave a link to it below!

Here goes, I got the notification that I had got a place at the masterclass at about half 10 in the evening on Thursday, both excited and nervous I was straight on twitter and Instagram to check who else got in. I noticed that my friend Zoe was going too, and a rush of relief fled over me. Knowing that someone I have spoken to was going too made me feel at ease, as I knew that I’d have someone. We had never met properly in real life, but I’m happy that we clicked straight away, probably because we were both as nervous as each other!

I got up about 7am to get ready and meet Zoe outside Oxford Street Station at 10.15am. Traveling alone is one of the things that makes me super anxious so I am proud that I managed to get there panic attack free! (yay) So I met up with Zoe and we started walking towards the place we were meant to be (we thought), we did go the wrong way but luckily google maps helped us out and we managed to get there in time. We where anxiously waiting outside when more and more people started arriving. We where all asked to wait in this little room by the door whilst they finished setting up. We also had to sign some content forms as Sugarscape (omg) where there filming the day. This is when I noticed one of my fav girls on the internet Lucy Wood, I knew that she worked at Sugarscape and was excited that she would be working with us today, I didn’t pluck up the courage to actually talk to her (rookie mistake) but none the less it was lovely to see her! Did manage to get on their snapchat though (cool)

This is when we were asked to start going in (me and Zoe accidentally skipped the line as we were in the toilet and went straight in oops). It was so lovely to be greeted as I walked in the door with “Joely!! Hi!” from both Lou and Nic, we then sat down and waited for everyone else to come in. Lou and Nic just had a little chat with us at first about what we would be doing, and it all sounded very exciting. I couldn’t believe how not nervous I was just by walking in to that room and seeing them, I literally forgot everything I was anxious about, how does that work??? Lou and Nicola were going to be doing two demos for us, Lou did a rainbow cut crease and Nic did a block out glittery brow! Both were amazing to watch and we all made sure we were make notes the whole way through, as its not everyday you get to learn from the pros!

Now it was time to do it ourselves! So nerve-wracking, Id never really done make up on other people before, I’m not even that good at doing it on myself. So as Zoe put her eyes in my incapable hands I started to do the rainbow cut crease look, following Lou’s tips I think I did an okay job but it wasn't brilliant. Lou came round and told me she loved it and then took a picture to put on her snapchat! (she also put my hair on her snapchat, buzzin). Then it was time for my make up, Zoe decided to do a cut crease too as me and glitter don’t really get along, so the glitter brows didn’t sound too appealing on my face! Zoe did really well, and Nic helped her with the blending, I was low-key buzzing that Nicola was doing my make up (that also doesn’t happen everyday). I then had to ask round for a face wipe as I couldn’t exactly get the tube home with one rainbow eye, I already got enough looks at my orange hair!

Then it was time the Q&A and selfies, I was too nervous to ask my question so I just kept it in aha! We then had some quick selfies and it was time to go!

The day went so fast, it was so amazing and I’d love to be able to do something like that again! Me and a few of the other girls then went to get some food and we chatted for a little while and that was really nice, meeting new people and socialising also makes me really anxious so I’m really happy with myself. It was so lovely!

The day was so amazing and thank you so much to NYX, Lou and Nicola for putting it on and making such an amazing experience!
